Prince has a split personality!
He is called Prince because that's exactly what he is to me, but when we go to the vets he is Hannibal Lector LOL as you can see by the photo attached.
Hope you will feature him on your site,
Kind regards,
Manny

I can see that he is very "dangerous" !!!!!
This we my sister and I have to do all the time with 2 of our dogs. We have a TibetSpaniel and one of our Chi´s do not like the Vet´s at all….. And I´m studying to be a Vet´s Assistance !!!!!!!

i think thats one of the cruelist things you could ever do to a dog. i would never put a muzzle on lily. people like you should not have a dog if your going to put a muzzle on it.
Alaina…. Maybe your vet doesnt do it, but many vets muzzle the dog for the dogs and thier safety. It only last a minute or so and no one gets hurt… Kinda a win win. My chi doesnt like it but Id rather him no open the vet up when he is being examined. Its the only time I would even consider it tho. Just because you may not agree with something doesnt make it wrong…
They don't call them ankl bitters for nothing, they can be very a agressive at the vet I have four of the little critters and the two that we had fixed are the worst and have bitten the vet when they got there shots maybe next time will try the muzzle for the vets sake.
he is cuttte!!!!!!!!!!
Prince is adorable, but even adorable dogs have teeth. And if they have teeth, they are capable of biting. A lot of dogs fright bite - that is bite at a person because they are frightened. Going to the vet is frightening for dogs, and to keep everyone safe, a soft muzzle is not cruel. My Chi is good with everyone he has come in contact with, but if the vet feels a muzzle is necessary, then I wont object.
Safety first, after the visit the dog can have treats and cuddles.
No intelligent pet owner muzzles a dog because he wants to be cruel. It's intended to protect the dog and the people around him. Any animal will lash out when it's frightened and many animals are frightened when they are taken to the vet, no matter how kind the humans around it are. Trust me, the last thing you want is for your dog to bite someone and then for that person to take action against you or to have your dog quarantined by the health authorities because of the possibility of rabies, even though it has been vaccinated. It happened to us. I'll take a muzzle any day.
My Chi, Scooby is terrifed of the vet. He actually bit me when I tried to hold him for the vet tech one day. Since then we have used a soft muzzle and it is much less traumatic for all involed! NOT CRUEL at all! Prince is adorable!
We bring our Chihuahua to the Vet for nail trims and try to make the destination not always a tramatic event. She is a year and a half and she still loves to visit the vet!
I don't think it's cruel at all. My annie hates to have her nails clipped and I have had to have her muzzled a couple of times. she nips at me even. No matter how I try to make it pleasant she still hates it. She's three years old and has had lens implants at 8 months and been to the vets too many times. So, it has been pretty traumatic for her. But, I Love Her to Death and wouldn't take a million dollars for her!!!
A muzzel is fine and perfectly safe! Would you rather have your dog bite the vet and not get proper care because you don't believe on muzzels? Muzzels also protect your dog! If you get bit your first reaction is to quickly pull away risking knocking your pet off the table. I had a chi that would eat the vets hands and arms so I had no choice! She did learn to behave her self as she got older and I no longer had to muzzel her. You should do your research befor you start telling people that they are unfit to be a pet owner! You are not very well educated on the subject to be making comments like that!
Prince is adorable. He probably bits out of fear aggression. It's like taking a frightened child to the Doctor. The muzzle is soft and is fine for it's purpose.
sorry….bites
So I guess its not cruel to leave off the muzzle and let your dog bite someone??? Actually if you know and understand dogs, putting a muzzle on them gently quiets them and lets them know who's in charge. It's only temporary but it keeps everyone safe including the dog.
I see nothing wrong or cruel about using a muzzle. They don't hurt the animal and they help get the job done.
I have a Chi that looks just like this one and she has to be muzzled at the vet too or she would bite! She would even bite me she gets so worked up over getting her nails cut! You have to do what ya gotta do!!!
Good on you for having your Chi muzzeled. I don't have to do that to my wee man as he's so good at the vet's and so damn friendly!!! His name is storm and looks like a lil grumby old man who he thinks that everyone loves him! And they do!!! Cheers Mahina
Good on you for putting not only the safety of Prince first but the safety of the vet staff as well. That's fantastic and not cruel it is a humane way of putting safety first. Keep up the great work. Good on you.
Sometimes muzzles are a necessary evil. No matter how cute and loving a chi is they still have a very powerfull bite and i would definitely rather they been safe than sorry (both vet and chi)
He's a cute little dog. I don't think the soft muzzle is bad better than being bit.
He's adorable - but then all chi's are. I've had 2 (no longer with us) and I've 2 now. My vet is amazed that all 4 of them have been really good at his office. (He said that most chi's that he sees are little terrors - so a soft muzzle would enable the vet to get the job done without the possibility of hurting them.) They're good at the vets, but at home, if they don't know you all of them would try to take you apart. But, that's only until they know that you wouldn't hurt their "momma".
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
