My teacup chihuahua puppy has swelling of the brain which is fatel..Is there anything I can do to help her?

I want to make her as comfortable as possible..
The 10k surgery is not a option..
What can I do to help her?
If anything at all…
She doesn't feel any pain..

hi
I know this is hard put put her down to prevent suffering I had to put down my beloved lab last year she had a painfully crippling arthritis in her whole back and couldn't even poo, it was painful to watch her and she went from normal to bad in 3 days we made the decision fast so that she wouldn't suffer it is better for them and you in the long run,

    Hello =)

If you feel as if she is suffering too greatly…….

And, you can stand putting her down yourself……

If you have any relatives in the family who are diabetics, ask them for a syringe of insulin. 50 units will do for a teacup chihuahua.

inject into a fold of loose skin behind neck……

She will go to sleep, peacefully, in your arms, and simply won't wake up…..

    Namaste,

    –Tom

There's not really much you can do except let her rest and be cautious around her head. If surgery isn't an option and you know she is in a lot of pain, ending her pain is an option too. Or you can let her live but mind you, when the brain swells as much as the skull bone will let it, the brain tissue will began die.

PLEASE DO NOT DO WHAT TOM SAID!
If you put your dog to sleep, let the vet do it, don't use a diabetics medicine to kill your dog. That's unnecessary.

For one thing, swelling of the brain is not 100% fatal. I've had a couple pups that had that problem. There is medicinces you can get from your vet to reduce the swelling, and help her not to be in pain. Most of the time they give you a syringe and let you bring her home to care for her.

It doesn't take a 10k surgery to help her, the most I paid was $200. They do have a bigger risk of seizures, and can't do normal dog things for a while, just lay and cuddle. Please don't look at the only option to put her down. Find a different vet, and find out all your different options. They can grow up to be perfectly normal dogs and never have problems again.

I am so so sorry! Poor baby! I don't think there is really much you can do other than, give her alot of love and attention, hold her alot, she'll feel more secure. I have five Chihuahuas of my own, and if anything happened to any of them, I would be so heartbroken. Is she sufferiing alot? Did the vet say anything about putting her down? I really hate to say that! Sorry!

hello as a vet and an animal lover i grew up my entire life breeding and selling dogs chihuahua was our main breed. First i will inform you that there is NO such thing as a tea cup. it is a term used by puupy mills to get more money b/c the dog is small. What you have is the runt of the litter. This is why your puppy has so many problems we dont do this but alot of breeders take a male and female "runt" and breed them to get smaller dogs. the smaller they get the more medical problems you will get. Even if you do the surgery it can kill your puppy or it can make even more problems. Yu are better off putting your puppy to sleep. im sorry but i hope this helps.

Did you vet suggest putting her to sleep, because that seems like the best thing to do at this point before she starts to have seizures, if she isn't already. If not ask him what else can be done.
